New Year’s Resolution

4 January 2010 2 Comments

I know I already have a bunch of 2010 goals, but to me a resolution is different – unlike a goal(ie PRing in the 10k), a resolution is something constant that you have to work at each and every day, consistently, throughout the year. This year, my resolution will be to consistently strength train – at least 3 days a week for 20 minutes a day.

The 100 pushups program is going to be a part of my strength training for sure. 100 pushups, here I come!

Kate – just found my way to your blog over from Twitterland – I am so sorry to hear about your set-back. Training for your first marathon is a tough road and there are bound to be set-backs. You are doing the right thing, getting 100% right physically and will come back better and stronger.

Strength training will make a “huge” impact on your ability as a distance runner. Really focus on your core which helps virtually everything from your posture and form to your ability to push through fatigue. I blogged about it several weeks back: http://wp.me/pHGel-1n

Best of luck! Looking forward to following you here.

    Take care, Joe

Thanks for the comment, Joe! I’m starting on healthy tipping point’s strength challenge once I get back to school (and a weight room) should be great!

    Thanks,

    Kate
